ElecTrain helps organizations improve electrical safety through practical training, consultation, and performance.

Our work

Founded in 2017, ElecTrain supports organizations that need experienced electrical safety training and consulting. We aim to engage students, make training meaningful to their work, and help teams build confidence and competence around electrical hazards.

Our instructors bring experience across commercial and industrial systems, power generation, and transmission and distribution. They also contribute to electrical safety committees, programs, and industry forums.

Andrew Olsen

Andrew Olsen is ElecTrain’s president. He trained as an electronics technician at Bellingham Technical College and served nine years as a nuclear trained electrician’s mate in the U.S. Navy. His later work included electrical instruction and shop supervision at Columbia Generating Station, curriculum development at Columbia Basin College, and management of the electrical program at the HAMMER Federal Training Center for the Hanford Site.

Andrew has instructed and consulted for public organizations since 2014. He is an NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional and has presented electrical safety work through industry forums including the EFCOG Electrical Safety Task Group and IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop.
