The three-day Level 2 course includes the Level 1 high voltage awareness curriculum and practical technician training. Participants who successfully complete the written examination and practical performance assessment receive ElecTrain Level 2 certification and Level 1 training credit. Separate Level 1 enrollment is not required.
What technicians learn
Participants learn to assess high voltage vehicle hazards, prepare a task, select appropriate tools and protective equipment, isolate the system, verify the absence of voltage using an appropriately rated meter, establish an electrically safe work condition, and perform controlled recommissioning within the taught procedures. The course does not qualify participants to work on live voltages. The employer determines authorization for specific workplace tasks.

Level 2 refresher and recertification
Returning technicians can take a six-hour annual online refresher and a two-day in-person recertification every third year under ElecTrain’s recommended schedule.
