This eight-hour instructor-led course gives participants guided practice locating, interpreting, and applying requirements in the National Electrical Code. Through installation scenarios, they identify relevant articles and tables, evaluate alternatives, and explain a code-compliant resolution.

8 hours of instructor-led code navigation, discussion, and scenario practice.
Who should attend
Apprentices, electricians, inspectors, supervisors, managers, planners, engineers, and others who interpret or apply electrical installation requirements.
Learning outcomes
- Locate articles, definitions, and tables relevant to an electrical installation scenario.
- Interpret cited provisions and identify assumptions or missing facts that affect the result.
- Analyze scenarios involving wiring methods, grounding and bonding, overcurrent protection, and selected recent changes.
- Evaluate alternative resolutions and justify an approach using the applicable NEC and local amendments.

For Washington classes, instruction uses the adopted NEC edition and Washington amendments in effect on the class date. The information sheet identifies the 2026 NEC as the primary reference and notes its December 31, 2026 Washington effective date.
