This four-hour online course introduces Li-Ion high-voltage battery cells and lower-voltage modules, focusing on hazard recognition, handling limits, and safe work planning. It is designed for personnel who encounter these components in production, storage, shipping, or oversight.

4 hours online. Instructor-led discussion and examples; no hands-on electrical work.
Who should attend
Line and warehouse personnel, safety staff, supervisors, managers, and others who handle, store, move, or oversee battery cells and modules.
Learning outcomes
- Recognize Li-Ion battery cell and module construction and common hazards.
- Identify indicators of damage, abnormal conditions, and thermal events and describe appropriate escalation.
- Discuss safe handling, storage, movement, and work planning for cells and modules below 60 VDC.
- Understand the limits of this awareness course and when qualified personnel and employer procedures are required.
Topics and format
Battery fundamentals; cell and module characteristics; electrical, chemical, thermal, and stored-energy hazards; handling and storage; incident recognition and response boundaries. Online discussion and examples.
Li-Ion is the primary chemistry. The same course can cover sodium-ion and traditional battery chemistries as needed by the customer.
This course does not qualify participants as battery workers or train them to use electrical protective equipment. Employers determine task-specific qualification and authorization.
